You know you've got a good designer on your side when he's only the second designer in a 31-year history to earn the prestigious Golden Steering Wheel awards by Bild am Sonntag and AutoBild for outstanding achievements in the automotive industry.
We're talking about Peter Schreyer, Kia's Chief Design Officer and Chief Design Officer of the Hyundai Motor Group. He's been creating some of the latest new Kia creations since 2006, and we couldn't be more proud to congratulate him on his much-deserved accolade.
Schreyer designs with the philosophy that creations should speak with simplicity and clarity. This obviously jives with the crowd since Kia's doubled its global sales over the past five years and sold over 2.7 million cars in 2012.Schreyer is responsible for the prominent Tiger Nose radiator grille and other award-winning design language found on vehicles such as the cult crossover Kia Soul and sporty Kia Optima. Schreyer is also responsible for concept vehicles like the compact four-wheel drive Kia provo concept.
"Kia Motors Corporation gave me the unique opportunity to start from scratch and give an automobile brand a completely new characteristic face," explains Schreyer. "Overall design responsibility for the entire Hyundai Group has added to this the exciting challenge of taking the Hyundai design forward and at the same time clearly differentiating the design strategies of the two brands."1
Of course, it's one thing to talk about these design cues, and it's another to see them in person. Experience the beauty here at Fox Kia in Grand Rapids, MI, your local Kia dealer serving the Kalamazoo and Kentwood areas and beyond. We look forward to serving you!
