Clear the dance floor, folks. Things are about to get electric up in here.

We're talking about the upcoming Kia Soul EV, of course, the all-electric, zero-emission variant of the popular 2014 Soul. After being spotted testing several times over the summer, we couldn't help but wonder when and if the U.S. would be getting this car. Now, all signs point to "yes."

That's right folks. As soon as next year, we'll be seeing the Soul EV on the roads around Grand Rapids, MI, and electric hamsters on our TV screens (we're not sure about the last one, but we wouldn't complain, either).

From what we've heard, the Soul EV will feature slightly different exterior styling than its gasoline counterpart, but carry over similar green interior furnishings. Kia hasn't given any hard, fast numbers regarding its powertrain, but the folks over at Autoblog got to test drive a prototype and told us what they knew.

From their estimates, the Soul EV will have an 81.4 kW electric motor that will offer 109 horsepower and 210 lb.-ft of torque. As far as range estimates, Kia is currently saying it will be  around 90 miles, but the Autobloggers noted that the automaker still has some work to do on that front.

What say you, reader? Does the idea of a new Kia EV excite you? Feel free to get in touch with us here at our dealership and let us know!
